How to fix leaking showers

This is a generic guide only, giving a basic overview of how to install a membrane. This information is given in good faith and should NOT be used as a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) or Instruction Sheet.
When purchasing membranes always download the full TDS sheet and MSDS sheet applicable. All membranes have their own manufacturer’s instruction guide/s, these must be used when installing membranes.

- 1. Establish where the shower is leaking. Carry out a water test by covering the waste with some cloth adhesive tape and fill the shower base with clean water (do not use the shower rose) leave the water in the base for approx. 20mins. If no sign of leak use the shower rose to spray water onto the base of the shower screen and hob. (if applicable) if still no sign of water leak, run water over taps and other section of the shower to look for evident of water leaks.
If the leak is coming from the base of the shower and the tiled floor area is in good condition with no hair line cracks through the grout.
- 1. The shower base must be dry for several days before applying NS26 to allow it to be absorbed into the grout.
- 2. TWS NS26 Nano Sealerover the entire base and allow to be absorbed into the grout to seal the base.
If your shower / tiled floor area is in good condition though you have multiple hair line cracks throughout your grout
- 1. Allow your shower to dry for 5 – 7 days and clean before using this application.
- 2. Apply TWS Polyclear over your entire floor area ( covering tile and grout ).
Shower Screen
- 1. Remove old damaged silicone.
- 2. Apply a Kitchen & Bathroom purpose silicone to reseal shower screen or taps.
If the leak is server or the shower is in a bad condition or bad leak, missing grout, or crack tiles you will need to completely remove tiles to fix the leak, please contact our team to discuss.
